This introductory Intensive Phonics course is particularly useful for teachers who are teaching English in the ESL or Learning Support context. Parents or Volunteers and Teacher Aid Staff could also be greatly benefited by doing this course, as you don't have to be a teacher to get an excellent working knowledge of the discipline of Intensive Phonics.
Intensive Phonics is a discipline, like grammar, that can be used to “crack the code” of the phonetic makeup of English as an alphabetic language. Once teachers and their students understand this phonetic makeup, it can be used as a highly effective tool that can build all language disciplines such as listening, reading, writing, spelling, pronunciation and articulation.
Intensive Phonics as a language discipline can be effectively used right across all stages of English acquisition from the Phonemic Awareness stage through to the Text Comprehension stage. It can be used both as a comprehensive system within an overall language program or as another very useful tool employed by teachers alongside other modern up-to-date linguistic methods. The discipline of Intensive Phonics is a particularly useful language tool when you get down to teaching and learning specifics of pronunciation and articulation, writing, reading, spelling and the diagnosis of problems students are encountering in their English language proficiency.
Intensive Phonics Through Drama, Introductory Courses can be done outside school hours from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. on Thursday to Friday and 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

Deposit of $150.00 is to be paid with enrolment and the balance on registration at commencement.
